Diary of a Food-FighterCross Moth
Late one evening last summer, I was coming home from a night out with my parents. As I approached the house, I noticed a moth with unusual markings on its wings perched on my door. It was dark out, but even by the dim patio light I could see that the design resembled that of a cross. I walked into the house, tired, thinking that I should get a picture of it, but then I got distracted, forgot all about it, and went to bed.
The next morning, I let the dogs out and remembered the moth on the front door. I checked and was shocked to find that it was still there. I went back inside, grabbed my camera, snapped a few shots, then downloaded them to see how they looked. I was not at all happy with the close-ups – – they were all blurry. The clearest photo was the one posted above. So I went back outside to get a better picture.
The moth was gone.
Why was it there all night, and then suddenly gone once I took the picture?
I had never seen a moth like that in my entire life (I grew-up playing in the woods where collecting bugs was pretty-much a requirement). I went back to the computer and looked at the enlarged image. Is it me, or does that design on the wings look, not merely like a cross, but like a figure on a cross (if you click on the picture you can see an enlarged view of it). Having recently become a Christian, I couldn’t help but think there was some special purpose behind this entire episode. What that special purpose was? I still haven’t quite figured that out yet. But I really like the following quote I found online about this type of moth (called the Clymene moth), and I’m going to stick with this interpretation for now:
“When you see one of these moths
it means that your prayer has been answered
and that the place where you found it
is protected by angels.”
I spotted this moth at my door to my home he remained there fr hours took a picture,! Lost my daughter, 2018 @ 50 ,I felt that this was her way of saying you are ok mom !! Peace came onto me !! Beautiful !!
I have one of these moths in my house right now. It has been here for about 2 days now. The first time I saw it, was when I went to open my bedroom door to go to bed, very tired. As I was turning the doorknob, I saw this and stopped, turned on my camera on my phone and snapped this picture. (I can’t figure out how to attach the picture, it will not let me) I was in awe!! I shared this information with my good friend, and we both thought it is a blessing. After reading the above, I truly believe that the things I have been going through and praying so hard about are why this moth is here with me. I feel at peace now. Yesterday, he moved to the inside of the wall, opposite of where I sit every day, out of my view, but today he is right in the door frame, straight in my view, where I can see him every time I look up from my computer. Such a blessing!! If I can figure out how to add the attachment, I will. He’s beautiful.

My encounter came in Vermont in 2002 on the same day my wife and I were baptized. I later learned my sighting was the first one in Vermont according to the U. S. Geological Survey tracking history. One of these moths appeared on my window 3 years ago the day my oldest daughter passed away. It stayed for three days then left and i never saw one again. On the three year anniversary of her death my youngest daughter walked out the door and called me outside to see that the moth was back. The same as it was three years earlier. I am not sure what it means but i know it is not a coincidence that it has meaning.
I was sitting on my front porch and when I walked in the door, my daughter said, Mom!!!! There’s something in your hair!!! And it was one of those moths!! We called it the Jesus moth, and it’s so amazing cause we’ve had so many signs from God lately and this is another one! God is amazing!!!
Wow! Just saw one a few days ago, on my counter in the kitchen, I also had been praying hard for someone in trouble and i have been so worried about him. I knew when i took the pic of it my prayers had been answered! God is so good to me!
I had one arrive last August .it died three days after. Arriving. I have it in a shadow box. This evening when my husband went out on the deck he noticed another one on the side. By the doors. The first one appeared when we were going thru a major change and here we are again. Change is good , was the last time and will be this time as well. Blessings. To you all.

I found this beautiful moth today I also have been praying more intensely recently! The moment I saw it, I knew it was a sign from God! I can’t stop looking at it, thinking about it! I feel the blessing!
Yes you are right on the interpretation. I got to see my
very first one on July 19, 2012. It landed on my shirt
and my son noticed it. At first I didn’t believe that a moth
with a cross in its back had landed on me. So I told my
son to take a picture bc where it landed I couldn’t see it.
He proceeds to take a picture and immediately I felt this
peaceful feeling going all around me. My prayers had
been answered bc my niece, Rylee, who was born at 24 weeks
gestational age had been in the hospital for 3 months. Well
2 days later she comes home. I know that prayer that I had
been praying for my niece had been answered. Since then
I have had another cross moth to come visit me and my
family at our new house on August 7, 2013. I had been praying
and asking God to send me a sign that day after I got off of work
to show me if He wanted me to do what He has asked me to do.
When I get home my brother in law brings out this cross moth
and I know again that my prayers have been answered once again.
So yes this cross moth has a spiritual meaning and it is a blessing
to have one of these moths. God bless!!!
